  1. When my friend Stefan and I ran a repair business in Fort Lauderdale we used templates A LOT!! BUT, we didn’t use cardboard. We would buy sheets of door skin at Home depot and then rip them into 3-inch strips. Then, using tin snips we could cut those pieces to fit and fasten them together using a hot wax gun. Remove the template, lay down on a sheet of plywood and voila! Perfect fit.
