Plans for the Glen-L Mark Twain: Here The Site says: The MARK TWAIN SERIES features four separate lengths of pontoon houseboats from 28′ to 40′ long. All models feature a lightweight, stable catamaran hull design with fine bows that glide through the water. The simple construction consists of hulls made of sturdy bulkhead frames and sheet plywood planking with a minimum of bending required. There’s no rust or noisy expansion and contraction as with steel drum-type pontoons. When fiberglass covered using our Fiberglass Covering Kit, maintenance requirements are minimal.
The deckhouse on each MARK TWAIN is independent of the hull. This means you can change or even omit the deckhouse if you desire, as long as the load does not exceed that recommended. The deckhouse utilizes ordinary lumber, plywood panels, and aluminum sheeting outside. We include all the details necessary for building your own MARK TWAIN, from framing members to the interior cabinetry. Each set of plans includes instructions, a Bill of Materials, and Fastening Schedule, plus, Full Size Patterns for all the hull framing members.
28′ This compact version can sleep two couples in complete privacy. The bath area is a split arrangement with separate bath and dressing areas. The galley is the same size as our larger 32′ version, as is the deckhouse area. There’s plenty of room outside, both under the roof on the bow porch, and up on the cabin roof sun deck complete with flying bridge and twin controls, optional.
32′ You can sleep six in this version. The bath is centrally located and there’s a huge wardrobe. The deckhouse is airy and spacious and includes a galley with all the provisions of a modern vacation home. Twin controls can be included by using the sun deck, flying bridge, and inside helm. The bow porch makes a nice shady retreat.
36′ Walkaround side decks, huge bow porch, and roomy sundeck offer comfort and convenience for a family of six. The galley-deckhouse living area is equal in size and features to our largest MARK TWAIN. The separate Owner’s Stateroom has a roomy wardrobe and is adjacent to the bath area, and there’s plenty of storage space which makes extended cruising a pleasure.
40′ For large families where privacy and roominess are important, the MARK TWAIN 40′ is the ticket. This model sleeps four couples in three cabins, and has a spacious bath complete with lavy and shower. There’s plenty of room for everyone with a spacious galley/deckhouse living area, bow porch, huge sun deck with flying bridge, and convenient walkaround decks.
