Rick Johnson has built a craft based upon a design by Phillip Thiel of Seattle Washington. The boat will be moored in Toledo, Oregon on the Yaquina River as a rental. More are in the works!
The YouTube clip says: Toledo Boat Works launched a new boat Saturday, a B&B of sorts, meaning Boat & Breakfast rental tied up at the port docks. Renter providea their own breakfast, of course! Builder Rick Johnson wants to build three more just like her. The craft, not yet officially named, will now undergo finishing touches to the interior which will sport a single berth in the rear, two doubles in the bow, a table with bench chairs in the middle, gallery and countier, gas stove, water heater, small microwave and small refrigerator. Will run $100-150 a night per Johnson’s “guesstimate.” This first floating B&B canal boat should be ready for occupancy by early August.
Philip Thiel has died, but his boat plans are available online.
