PDR: Cutting Begins

It’s one small step for a man, one modest leap for a boat. – Mr. Shantyboat.

I did my first cutting after work Friday night.  It’s not much, but it’s a start.  I am building a version of a Puddle Duck Racer, aka PDR, designed by Jerome Delaunay.  It’s called the Scow 244.

Life always seems to conspire to take time away from boat building, but I got a couple hours in, and on a boat this small and simple, that means some noticeable progress.

Basically, measure, mark, cut.  Then I used Gorilla glue to add the two stringers shown in the plans.

It is SO satisfying when you start to see pieces of a boat, especially when you have both sides slammed out ready for two or three frames to give it some shape.
